Vita Coco 100% Pure Coconut Water, 11.2-Ounce Containers (Pack of 12)

As an South Indian, I love drinking coconut water esp. on road trip when your body temperature is high. Vita Coco is certainly much better than Zico Pure Coconut Water. I ordered both and I drank Zico yesterday and I couldn't get any taste initially. Slowly I felt like drinking a coconut water later eventhough the real coconut water taste is kind of missing. The taste was just okay. When I was expecting a similar taste on Vita coco, I wasn't disappointed as yesterday. This one certainly had much better taste and felt like drinking coconut water. I don't care about anything else but just the taste!!! Four stars is for not getting the exact fresh 100% coconut water. I am sure there could be some product out in the market, which I need to try.

My wife has been drinking coconut water since she was little. I have never drank coconut water in my life. I originally picked up some cases of ZICO for my wife a few months ago when Amazon was running a promotion. She liked it and thought it was pretty good. I took one sip and that was all I could stand, and vowed never to try it again! My wife just recently used up all the ZICO so I came to Amazon to buy some more for her. While here, I happened to stumble across the Vita Coco brand and decided to read the customer reviews. I was very happy with what I had read, so I decided to take a chance and purchase a case. It arrived yesterday and after chilling it in the fridge for a while, I gave one to my wife to try. She let out a big MMMMM after the first sip! I was curious, so I deicided to grab my own carton and have a taste. One sip turned into two, and then three, and four, and more! I have to say, Vita Coco is a really great tasting coconut water, and I am now hooked! This may sound silly, but for me the package graphics actually make the beverage more enjoyable!

I originally bought this for my wife, but now I'm back here on Amazon and ready to purchase some more before I end up drinking it all myself! Let me just finish by saying that for someone who had never drank coconut water in his life, and could not tolerate a second sip of ZICO, you can believe that Vita Coco is a great tasting, quality brand that I'm sure you will just love! I only wish it was a little cheaper on the wallet, but it's still worth it in my book. Guess that will make me savor it even more, like a fine wine. I just finished one carton about 10 minutes ago, and now after writing this review, I'm ready to grab another one!

For the record, my intent is not to bash ZICO at all. My wife still likes the taste of it and would still buy it. You may have tried it and like it as well, and that's good! I'm just giving my opinion as someone who has never drank coconut water at all, and found Vita Coco to be the most enjoyable to me. If you're not sure, then give them both a try and see what you think. But if you are new to coconut water, I think you would enjoy the Vita Coco brand and should probably give that a try first.

For me it is the best beverage after water. If I could afford it I would drink 2 liters of Vita Coco every day. This is how good it is.

My first coconut water I was drinking straight from the coconut in the Philippines, which is very aromatic and obviously - you can in no way beat that flavour and the healthy properties of "living", unpasteurized coconut water straight from the coconut. Absolutely no processed coconut water can ever beat this.

The problem is access to fresh coconuts. In the Philippines, which even has a ministry for coconuts, they are availabe on every market and street corner, totally fresh. This is different in the US, were most coconuts are imported and therefore most are old. I tried some and did not like half of them.

If no fresh coconuts are available, this pasteurized tetrapacked drink is pretty nice. The heat of pasteurization seems to destroy the rich flavour of fresh juice straight form the coconut, but that is the price for convenience.

This Vitacoco is killer rehydration with poquito sugar. I don't care for the flavored versions, but if you love coconut, you'll love this product. After a long day or just some good exercise, a cold one 'll do you right! Order a couple a cases on autoship and save $$!
