agave sweetener
This product is so great! I can't praise it more. I don't think there is an aftertast, althugh some other people in my family have mentioned that it does. I love that it's so convenient. I pour it in my coffee and use it for baking. I love it so much I have a subscription.

Best Natural Sweetner I've Found
I really love the versatility of this product. You can use it in baked goods where it adds a wonderful, moist texture. You can use it in hot drinks like tea (I use it in green, white, red and herbal teas). You can add it to cold beverages and you don't get clumps like with powdered sweetners. It doesn't leave an after taste and you don't have to worry about getting a sugar rush or an artificial sweetner headache.

My most unusual use? That's easy - I love to use it on pancakes and waffles in place of maple syrup! It's especially wonderful when you combine it with real blueberries heated just until they're starting to melt, piled high on a flax or multigrain waffle.

Agave is great!
Agave is a good product and this brand is well priced. If you're unfamiliar with it: it has a very low glycemic index so you don't get a sugar bump or crash. It comes from cactus. You can cook with it. And best of all, tastes great. I don't notice the difference between agave and sugar.

I love this sweetener! I use it on everything - in my coffee, my tea, on my oats. Hard to believe it's not bad for you and it tastes so good!

Wholesome Sweetener's Organic Raw Agave great tasting and great for you
Wholesome Sweeteners Organic Raw Blue Agave, 23.5-Ounce Bottles (Pack of 6)

I have a number of health concerns, most particularly, Metabolic Syndrome X (a.k.a Pre-Diabetes or Insulin-Resistance )which causes high blood pressure, heart disease, high chlosterol, and obesity (among other things). My medical doctor simply wanted to prescribe medicines for my condition(s) (i.e. Lipitor, blood pressure medicines, etc.)

I finally went to a couple of doctors who were both medically trained and well-versed in alternative medicines. They both suggested that I try agave nectar as my sweetener. When, I asked about other sugar substitutes and I was met with a resounding "No!" for all except stevia products. I was even told to shy away from the sugar alcohols (i.e. xylotol, mannitol, maltitol, sorbitol, erythritol, lactitol, etc.) because although they ar natural and low glycemic, they apparently can cause/exacerbate candida.

The long and short of it is that I love the agave nectar! I have found the "Raw", "Blue" Agave to be the best (with the Lowest G.I.). It dissolves easiest in liquids, has no aftertaste whatsoever (compared to natural honey or maple syrup, for example), and is safe for type II diabetics and non-diabetics alike. See: http://www.vegfamily.com/vegan-cooking-tips/agave.htm

I am still working on my Metabolic Syndrome X symptoms (I have found some natural blood pressure herbs that work wonderfully Circu & Pressure Formula Herbal Supplement) and I'm beginning a regimen designed to help all my symptoms at once (The Insulin-Resistance Diet--Revised and Updated, for example).

I'll be sure to post an update as to how I do. However, in the meantime, if you're looking for an effective sugar substitute that has no health side effects and no aftertaste, please, please, please consider the raw blue, agave nectar first and agave nectar of any kind second!
