Delish!
When you love Indian food, but don't have the time to cook it, Kitchens of India is a really great alternative. I have yet to be disappointed in one of their dishes and this one is no exception. The great thing about Indian food is that they are mostly sauce (or "gravy" as they say), so I will cook up some meat or steam up some veggies and add one of these packets to make a fabulous meal. Their really aren't much in the way of veggies in these packets, but that is typical in Indian food, no matter where it comes from. American's tend to use gravy or sauce as the secondary component while Indian's use it as the primary component and sop it up with lots of bread or rice. By steaming or sauteing some additional vittles, you can really stretch one of these packets. 2008-11-30

Good, not great
These had a slightly odd taste. Not bad, but not as good as the Dal from some other brands. 2008-11-23

Not very tasty, and too spicy
Great service getting the product to me, it didn't seem very tasty though, its too hot for me, maybe a real indian food fan is better able to review instead, I'm just disappointed I have so many bags left!! Def. try a bag from a local store before you buy a six pack!
The plus is, its easy to cook and smells nice :) Certainly could impress company :) The way its prepackaged is really nice, hopefully I can find one I like to eat now!!

Makes a great sauce
Try a packet as a sauce for fish or to season otherwise bland vegetables. Very much like a chili, I totally like this stuff. 2008-11-20

Different and Very Tasty
At last, some serious competition for my previous favorite KOI recipe (rajma masala)!
This has enough cream and butter to produce a very rich flavor, but without being high in calories or saturated fat. With just 15 g of total fat in a whole package, it tastes much richer than it is. If you mix it with rice (brown or wild rice) it becomes a low-fat dish, and of course high protein.
Yum!
