Horizon Organic Reduced Fat Milk, 8-Ounce Aseptic Cartons (Pack of 18)

I am so happy I found out Amazon offers this product. It's being shipped to my house monthly, I don't have to think about it. The stores in my city that carry aseptic milk are not convenient for me to get to and Costco only carries chocolate. This is perfect for me to pack in my pre-schoolers lunch and I like knowing that I have milk on hand that will not spoil in the event of a power outage. Now if I could find whole milk in aseptic packaging to carry in my 1 year old's diaper bag I would be even happier.

This is great milk at a great price! It's easy to take along with us when we are on the go with our 16 month old son. And it doesn't need to be refrigerated which makes it even more convenient.

I was delighted when Horizon came out with Aseptic carton milk. We live in an area that is subjected to frequent thunder and ice storms. We lose power regularly. The shelf life of aseptic carton milk is about 4 to 6 months...so keep a couple cartons on hand and rotate them as needed. The flavor is excellent. It's hard to make pancakes and eggs without power but at least a bowl of cereal is doable with this product.

I have not tasted this product, so sorry no help there. However, I do not recommend ordering for long term use or emergency preparedness. I ordered at the beginning of Sept and my product has an expiration of mid Nov. We might be using this pricey milk around the house just to avoid waste.

I have to admit that at first I felt like I was just paying a premium for the word "organic." However, upon actually drinking the product and seeing the longer shelf life I realized that the nominal amount I paid was well worth it.
Pros
The milk tastes fresher and smoother than regular non-organic milk.
The shelf life is almost 2 months longer than regular non-organic milk & does not require refrigeration until you want to drink it (recommended but not required) or after you've open it.
The container is portable and keeps milk cool long after you take it out of the fridge.
Con
It does cost more than non-organic milk.
It is probably less expensive to buy the Horizon brand gallon sized milk at the store.
