Hodgson Mill Honey Whole Wheat Bread Mix, 16-Ounce Boxes (Pack of 6)

I've tried many of the Hodgson Mill bread mixes, and this is my least favorite. This mix does not rise the way I'd like a mix like this to rise. At first, I thought maybe I got a bad batch of yeast, so I tried using my own (which I know is good) with the same results. It's almost as dense as a low gluten bread (like the Barley mix), which I was not expecting with this one. Their Caraway Rye mix has the same protein content, but rises much better than this one. I may try it one more time to see if I got a bad batch. To be edited later.

I like this mix and the 9 grain mix from Hodgson Mill. Both make consistently goof-proof loaves. The mix is almost $3.00 in stores so getting it with Free Shipping from Amazon is a great deal.

The Hodgson Mill Honey Whole Wheat Bread mix produced a nice loaf of bread. The taste and texture were very good. In my machine the timing was perfect for the proper browning. Very nice crust.

This mix is easy to use and bakes up well every time. Its texture is good and holds up to cutting slices thin enough to put into a toaster.

Our first two boxes got over baked because we left it in the full time.
The other are turning out great because I take them out 35min early. Your time may vary.
The only thing you need to add is vegetable oil or margarine. We've used both and it turned out the same. I would suggest using olive oil or another vegetable oil because it is easier to use.
