Convenient and performs well!
I love this dishwasher action pacs for their sheer convenience:
1) No measuring out gels or powders (or having to deal with accidental spills)!
2) You know exactly how many loads you have left remaining, and when to buy more
3) I have noticed my glasses don't get the 'white powder' buildup they get with dishwasher powder
4) Pleasing citrus scent (not overpowering)
Quick note of caution - seal the pouch well or the action pacs tend to dry out. Also, as noted in other reviews, perhaps, you don't need to puncture the pacs. Simply place in the slot for dishwashing detergent. The outer covering dissolves away.

Great product - definitely no prewash necessary
I am surprised there are only three reviews of this excellent product.
I noticed someone mention a plastic pouch needs to be removed after a cycle. For accuracy, there is no plastic pouch left behind. I have used this in 3 different dish washers, have recommended to others and just checked the package - there is never a plastic pouch left or reference to one being left behind. They dissolve in water (obviously).
We have been using these for over a year and have recommended to countless friends and family who have thanked us for turning them on to the product.
First, the biggest problem with dishwasher detergent is people add too much detergent. This is not only a waste, but is bad for the environment and etches everything you wash over time. Have you ever noticed your silverware, glasses and/or dishes develop small etching on them? Too much dishwasher detergent. These packets are pre-measured and regardless of full or partial load, they work great.
We no longer pre-rinse/wash. We just remove the large bits and throw in the washer. Sometimes the dishes will sit for a couple days. When the dishwasher is completely full, we throw in a pouch and run the load. I have never had anything come out dirty or not completely clean.
No etching: because of the proper measurement, which seems quite small from what we are used to, there is no etching.
Safe for septics and while it has phosphorus, it's very small amount by volume so you pretty much get an environmentally friendly product here w/the offset of the amount used and effectiveness.
These simply work great and add great convenience of premeasured, throw-in packs - you'll like this product.
I, of course, do subscribe and save to save the extra 15%. One package of 5 every six-months is too much for us so I just delay it, but that may vary for you.

Hey, it isn't very green, but al least it works
I have tried every eco-friendly option out there, and they just don't get even moderately dirty dishes consistently clean. Using the dishwasher, full, saves a lot of energy and water over handwashing, but if you have to rewash or rinse dishes, you cancel out a lot of it. I tried Cascade when the major consumer review magazine rated it highest, and it does work best by far. It also doesn't etch my glassware--our local water is prone to interacting with dishwasher detergent to do that.
Do I wish it were unscented, undyed, un-phosphated--sure. HEY CASCADE, LISTEN UP: surely you can leave out a lot of the toxic extras--dyes, scents....according to the magazine, it is the enzymes that make the difference. Thanks for using less packaging with the soft bags, though.
I'll have to offset the environmental impact somewhere else.

incredibly disgusting
Maybe it's just that our dishwasher at work is a smaller-than-fullsize unit. But dishes that come out of it after being washed with this product *stink*. They are completely saturated with the noxious scent included in the tablets. So much so that I find myself re-washing every dish that comes out. Just this morning I tried to eat some oatmeal from a freshly-washed mug and found my eyes were actually watering from the emitted scent -- that's how strong it is.
Cool packaging, but really, really gross results. Avoid!

excellent product
Cascade manufactures a great product with their water-soluble pouches of dishwasher detergent. These pouches take all the mess and guess work out of adding the dishwater detergent to your dishwasher before you start it up. Just place one pouch, unopened, into the main dispenser cup (not any other cup) of your dishwasher, close the dispenser cup if you have to--and then just turn on the dishwasher! The pouch with its soap and Dawn gives you very clean dishes that actually DO shine. Great!
Make sure that every time you take a pouch out of the plastic bag they come in that you reseal that plastic bag to help maintain the freshness of the remaining dishwasher detergent pouches.
The pouches cause no harm to septic tanks; and your dishwasher runs just fine with them instead of the regular dishwasher detergent you may have used up until now.
After the dishwasher cycle is over, simply remove the pouch from the dispenser cup and discard it.
This form of dishwasher soap mixed with Dawn and a mild citrus breeze scent gives you such shiny, clean dishes that it becomes addictive! This product does the job of cleaning your dishes marvelously; and once you try them you'll be hooked just as I am now. In addition, these packages will save you the effort of carrying very heavy containers of detergent from your grocery store.
The only caveat is that this does have a type of citrus scent to it. If you are allergic to any scents or perfumes try an unscented form of dishwasher detergent.
Overall, I highly recommend this product for anyone who has a dishwasher and cares to try to just make things easier for themselves when it comes to loading up the dishwasher or preparing it for a wash cycle. These bags make for no muss/no fuss deal; and that's quite all right in my book!
